Alpine skiers enjoy fun on the slopes at all levels of difficulty on the region's 3 fine ski mountains and practice lifts. Especially if you are out and about with the whole family.
Little skiers in the village
At Lake Achensee, kids learn to ski right in the middle of the village: no long journeys or unfamiliar lift rides at the beginning stand in the way of their first attempts on two boards. Grandma and Grandpa can also take a leisurely winter walk and find out what it's like on a snowplough.
There are also many more options for fun on the slopes at Lake Achensee than anywhere else: when it comes to snowboarding, the Tyrolean pioneers are at home here. Those who prefer a more leisurely ride can take the snowbike - the world's first snowbike region successfully takes care of the modern "descendant" of the good old skibob.
Those who prefer to ski up themselves will be delighted by the touring areas in the Rofan and Karwendel mountains, and the ski touring experiences at Lake Achensee are also family-friendly: there are numerous popular tours close to the ski areas, so skiers, ski tourers and sun worshippers can easily meet up for a stop at one of the cozy huts.
Karwendel and Rofan ski touring area
In the Achensee Karwendel region, the starting points are the villages of Achenkirch and Pertisau. Popular route destinations are: Östliches Lamsenjoch, Seierjoch, Gröbner Hals, Rether Kopf, Hochplatte or Juifen.
There are countless routes of all levels of difficulty in the small Rofan mountains, e.g. to the Rofanspitze, Seekarlspitze, Hochiss, Streichkopf, Dalfazer Joch, Stuhljöchl, Schneidjoch, Guffert and Vorderunnütz. Starting points are the villages of Maurach and Steinberg.
